Natural Ways to Soothe Eczema

Natural Ways to Soothe Eczema
Are you suffering from Eczema? Read here how to get rid of itch and pain!

If you’re one of the many people who suffer from eczema, there are many simple changes that you can make in your house to help soothe the itching and soreness. The main adjustment you can make, whether it is you or your child who is afflicted, is to ensure that the products you use are natural. Most types of eczema are triggered by allergic reactions or contact with irritating chemicals found in cleaning products and agents. Using natural and homeopathic methods could be the simplest way to keep the itching at bay.

Soothing salves
Instead of choosing ordinary moisturisers, which often include harsh chemicals hated by eczema-prone skin, look for a calming ointment made specifically with dry skin-sufferers in mind. Chickweed is an alterative and purifier, and also acts as an emollient for the skin – ideal for when the skin is particularly dehydrated. Chamomile is also great for eczema as it has been known to soothe the skin. It has also been recognised for its strong anti-inflammatory properties - great for promoting wound healing whilst protecting and nourishing irritated skin.

Scratch-free shower
Surprisingly, one of the places which upsets eczema the most is the shower. Hot water dries out the skin, while many high street shower gels are full of chemicals. Again, you need to look for a body wash free of any nuisances which irritate your skin, made especially for those with sensitive skin. Lemon balm is a great ingredient to keeping you shower happy – acknowledged by many as owning calming properties. Bergamot, Neroli and Ylang Ylang are also brilliant components, hailed for soothing sensitive skin.

Home tips!
Long exposure to water (ex. when cleaning and washing the dishes) can dry out the hands, while contact with chemicals present in cleaning products can really aggravate the eczema. For this reason, it's always best to use gloves and apply a suitable hand cream or oil right after.

Nutrition!

In addition, some doctors believe that plenty of fatty acids in your diet -such as omega-3 - can ward off the inflammation.
